January 2007 Archives
One of my past grooms needed some headshots for a book he wrote so he asked me to come by and take some pictures. The publisher had some pretty firm rules as to what type of picture to take, I made sure we got some more relaxed ones as well.
Here are a few of the images:
Stay tuned for the rest of the images from this session with his daughter!
Mark, Thank you for having me out to capture these images! I hope to see you and Christine again soon!

I have recently started shooting boudoir sessions. These are lots of fun and a great gift idea for your fiance or husband, or even as a nice thing to do for yourself! Don't forget Valentine's Day is just around the corner!!
There has been a lot of buzz lately about these types of photos. If this is something you are interested in please let me know and we can discuss what you want!
I have permission to post these images:

First of all - Mary needs major props! Not only is she great with child :) She is the person behind catching my blog up!!! THANK YOU MARY. I have been so busy and was so behind - I just couldn't get caught up. Mary asked if there was anything that I needed help with since she was home and not working, I taught her how to do the blog - and really you can thank her for it being caught up! It hadn't been caught up since I started the blog! Which in a way is a good thing - it just shows I am super busy!
I got a new camera for Christmas - The Canon 5D (Thank you Russell!) and I bought myself a new lense - and 85mm. Well I wanted to try all of my new gear out and Mary wanted some maternity pictures. So here is what I came up with:
These were all taken at Baker Park in Frederick, MD.
Thank you Mary and Larry for hanging out with us and thank you for having capture these pictures to help you remember this amazing time of your life. I can't wait to meet Lily and I know you can't either!

I think we picked the only cold day in 2006 for an engagement session!! Don't get me wrong - I realize it should be cold in December - but boy was it COLD!! Danielle and Brad are getting married in February and we did their engagement session today! We had to wait for Brad to come back from serving our country - THANK YOU BRAD!
Here is what I saw:
Danielle and Brad - thank you for choosing me to be a part of this amazing time of your life! I really look forward to working with you on your wedding day!

Here is what I saw:
We ended up staying for dinner (Russell joined me later), and Olivia is obviously related to me - since she thinks she REALLY NEEDS TO CLEAN HER PLATE!
Thank you for having us over for pictures and dinner!

My sister and her family came for Thanksgiving! It was great that they could come visit from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This is the first time that they had come to see our new home, and been for a visit since our wedding in 2003! We hadn't seen them since 11/2004! The boys had grown so much! I wanted to take some pictures of them on their last day with us! We had such a great time - these were all taken at my house!
The family:

Today was a great day for a wedding! Today's wedding was held at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Arlington, Virginia (http://www.mtolivet-umc.org/) and the reception was at The Army/Navy Club in Washington, DC (http://www.armynavyclub.org/indexmain.htm). The wedding coordinator was Monica Kelson from Midnight Sun Special Events (http://midsunevents.com/about_coord.htm). Like usual it was great working with Monica - I was sad that this was our 3rd and last event together until 2007! I think we have a couple events coming up in 2007 too!
Here is what I saw:
Congratulations Jean and Carey, Thank you for choosing me to be a part of this special time of your life! I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness together!

The weather has been amazing lately! We had a gorgeous day for a wedding! I was so glad - because today's couple gave me time before their event to take all of their pictures, and the event was to be held at a golf club! Hollow Creek Golf Club was our setting (http://www.hollowcreekgolfclub.com/) - This is a great venue in Middletown, Maryland!
The wedding planner for today's event was Monica Kelson (http://midsunevents.com/index.html). She is just great. She has recently just moved here from Norway and we met a couple weeks ago and she offered her services to 3 of my clients for free. It has been great getting to know Monica and I know she will have a fabulous career!
Here is what I saw:
Hannah and Matt - thank you so much choosing me to be a part of this special time of your life. As I told you on your wedding day - your ceremony was very moving, it takes a lot now to make me cry at a wedding! You both are fabulous people and I hope to stay in touch with you! I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness together!
PS - i do have to call attention to the fact that this wedding I had my first real celebrity! Flounder from DC 101 and Elliot in the Morning (http://www.dc101.com/main.html#) was the best man! He was a great guy! He was supposed to plug me on the radio show - but alas I never heard it :) I guess he gets no free wedding from me :) LOL!

Today I had a family session with one of my friends and her family! We had a great time!!
For today's session we just stayed in Kelley and Matts house and yard and got some great captures!
Here is what I saw:

Amy and PJ are one of my May clients! We decided to go to Algonkian Park (http://www.nvrpa.org/algonkian.html) for their engagement session. They decided it would be fun to include their dogs in their session - and they were right!
Here is what I saw:
Thank you Amy & PJ - I look forward to your wedding in May!

You may recognize these clients as they are some of my favorite. I think this is my second or third session with them! I met Crystal while planning my wedding back in October 2003 - in fact we got married on the same day! We have become great friends ever since!
For their session we started in their neighborhood then went on to The Claude Moore Park (http://www.co.loudoun.va.us/prcs/parks/claude.htm).
Here is our session:
Thank you Crystal and Mike for having me out to photograph your family - I am so thrilled to hear of your pregnancy and can't wait to continue to photograph your growing family!!
--------
One of my March clients had me out to Great Falls Park in Virginia (http://www.nps.gov/archive/gwmp/grfa/) to do their engagement session! We had a great time!!
I can't wait for their wedding. Lee is a Tae Kwon Do instructor and will be doing a Tae Kwon Do demonstration at the wedding - It should be great fun!
Here is what I saw:
We had to play in the leaves!

Today was a horrible day for an engagement session! We made it work anyway!! I have some of the best luck with weather this year - but today was miserable and rainy. Candice and Brian had contacted me a while ago for an engagement session - they are getting married in California but wanted some pictures done here to mark their engagment. We met at Brookside Gardens (http://www.mc-mncppc.org/parks/brookside/) which was good - because we were able to go outside and shoot some inside as well - plus we had some shelter!
Here is what I saw:
You would never know that is was pouring out!
Thank you Candice and Brian for including me in this special time of your life!! I wish you both a life time of love and happiness and best of luck with your continued wedding plans!
--------
Another beautiful day for a wedding! I was surprised to get a booking on Friday the 13th - in October no less!! Today's event was held at The Great Room at Save Mill (http://www.savagemill.com/ and http://www.puttingontheritz.com/). I really like this venue and have been there a couple times before. This time is was pretty cold and there was a lot of construction going on - so we were kind of restricted as to where we could go. They also had to move the ceremony inside. Regardless, it was a lovely event and I had a great time with Sam and Tommy!
Here is what I saw:
I made one of the vendors in the mill give Sam and Tommy an ice cream cone - it made for some cute pictures!
Samantha and Tommy, Thank you for including me in this very special time of your life, it was truly an honor. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness. Have a great time in Orlando - and maybe I will bump into you there!
