February 2007 Archives
I was flown to Georgia to do 9 photo sessions this past week. This is the start of them.
My friend Crystal wanted to do the old pinup style photo with her husbands 1965 Pontiac.
Here are some of the photos - all were cleared by the client to be posted to the blog :)
Thank you Crystal for having me down to take pictures, it was not only an honor but I had a great time.
Blog readers keep watching for more Georgia photos!

We are back to having beautiful days for weddings! Well it was a tad chilly - but still a gorgeous day!
Danielle and Brad are a great couple.
Today's events took place at Haymarket Baptist Church in Haymarket, Virginia (http://www.haymarketbaptistchurch.org/) and Virginia Oaks Country Club in Gainesville, Virginia (http://www.virginiaoaks.com/tour/). Tim was assiting me today! I really loved the church - it was so cute!
Here are some images from today:
The Bride:
I always love this dress it reminds me of my own wedding dress - and you may recognize it from Hannah and Matt's wedding too!
This image may need some explaining! That is Danielle's mom under her dress - fixing something - not sure what - maybe the garter - I don't remember! I thought it was funny though :)
The Groom:
Brad is not only in the Marines, but that round emblem on the left side of his jacket means he is Secret Service and is one of the guards to the President of the United States!! I was very impressed - I have to admit though I was looking for the President during the wedding - well No Dice :)
After the Ceremony Danielle and Brad exited the church for the Sword Ceremony. I always love this!
(can you find me in this image? I will give you a hint - that is my pesky shadow at the bottom of the image!)
The Bride and Groom:
The Reception:
I really enjoyed this little girl, and as you can tell she kind of liked me and my camera:
This is a family tradition with the groom's cousins - A "Friends"-type of picture. I just love the different facial expressions!
Well as you can see I enjoyed this wedding - I could probably pick 20 more photos to post from this wedding - but I will stop!
Thank you Danielle and Brad for choosing me to photograph your wedding, it was truly an honor! Thank you also Brad for serving our country in the many ways that you do! I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness together, and I am putting you on my list of past clients now stationed in Hawaii for a future vacation :)
Thank you Tim for your help today!

Well Old Man Winter has gotten us good!
Russell and I are home today enjoying Valentine's Day together - this was not planned this way of course!! NASA where my husband works was Code Yellow today. While he is an essential employee - as he helps make the base safe for everyone else who works there - he was not on Snow Duty for this storm. So he gets to be home with me!! What a nice treat and surprise!
I of course have to work - rain or shine, snow or ice! I have been editing pictures a lot of the morning...
But we took a break to go on a photo safari. Granted this safari didn't last too long - as I couldn't walk in the ice and it was COLD - BRRRRRR.
Here are some pictures we took - Russell and I both shot these:
Sydney observing our jaunt through the front yard - be sure to look closely at the ice around each wire in the fence!
A very cold light:
The Harpers Ferry Valley looks ominous
A very cold little pine tree with a cold Jetta in the background:
Murray is quite happy in the cold:
Another fence shot:
Our entire house is covered in ice -almost as if someone hosed it down with ice - you can't really tell - but it is crazy looking:
This is my window to my office - and is at the front of our house - well you can literally not see out of it - when inside. The ice is caked on the screen.
I hope all the trees we planted make it - They look very sad:
Stay safe everyone!

My cousin brought her kids over one night and we played a bit :)
Here are some pics from the evening:
We brought over some of my husbands old toys from his parents house a few months ago. My nephews were coming for Thanksgiving and we wanted them to have stuff to play with. Well we decided to keep the stuff now - since Olivia and Adam come over!
Olivia enjoyed the blocks:
She really loves the camera and likes to get really close!
I love this shot - she is grinning at my husband!!
Time to go - but there is time to have a few jumps on U. Russell!
I only got one picture of Adam this time - Bad A. Kerry!
But they came back a couple of days later, and I was able to capture these gems while they were in the car:
Thanks for stopping by!

Trisha and Dave are one of my May clients. We met in the Catoctin Mountains (http://www.nps.gov/cato/ ) for their engagement session and had a great time. We were all pleasantly surprised to see all of the snow up there!!
Here is what I saw:

A couple weeks ago I posted Mary and Larry's maternity session - well their baby has arrived!
Lillian Elizabeth was born on 1/31/07 - I didn't meet her until the next day.
Her stats: 9 pounds 3 ounces
21 inches
The happy family:
It totally looks like she is giving the PEACE sign here:
Lilly has some lungs:
Ok so - can you tell I love feet!
Congrats again guys! We are so happy for you, thanks for having me out to take some pictures! See you soon!

Yet another gorgeous day for a wedding. The weather has been strange around here this winter and it really wasn't that cold!
Today's event took place at St. Anne's Church in Reston, VA (http://www.stannes-reston.org/) and at the Community Club at Fort Belvoir (http://www.belvoirmwr.com/community-club/index.html).
Here is what I saw:
The dress:
They are ready - I love this moment between April and her dad:
Some of the formals including the one that I was shooting when Tim captured me in action:
April and Phil, thank you for choosing me to be a part of this special time in your life, it was truly an honor. I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness together. Congratulations again.
Thank you Tim for assisting me today!

Jennifer and Chad are one of my first couples that got married in November 2004!! IT is always great to hear from past clients and get repeat business. I love to catch up with my couples as they all truly hold a special place in my heart - especially those that hired me when I was very fresh to this business!!
Well Jen and Chad are now expecting their first baby!!! They hired me to take some pictures of them to help remember this special time.
I was a bit nervous about the session as we got some snow! (the first snow in a long time!) But they agree to have the session anyway - so it was fun and a new thing for me to actually shoot in the snow!
I also got to try out my new fingerless gloves that a friend knitted for me!! They were great!! To any photographer who wants some - send me an e-mail and I will get you the information!! (kandrphoto@gmail.com).
Here are a few pictures from the session:
